What’s up guys, this is the 3rd Friday Insight, probably the best one yet.=

In this week’s installment, we’ll be diving into how consumers today prefer to communicate.

Insight #1: Text messaging is 3-8x more preferred than face to face communication across all generations (twilio)

In a world of convenience, today’s consumers are more accustomed to researching a product weeks before a sales rep reaches out or even before the point of purchase. In this world of convenience, customers would rather text because it gives them a moment to step back, research, and communicate with sales reps as an educated consumer. 

Insight #2: 3 in 10 people say they would give up phone calls to still be able to text (Twilio)

8 of 10 people suffer from phone anxiety. A possible result of modern social media usage and convenient messaging. 

Insight #3: 85% of consumers want to be able to engage in text conversations with a business, not just receive information (Twilio)

No one enjoys a one sided conversation in person. So why would you subject your customers to one-way text messages using a 5 digit short code number. Here’s an interesting read if you want to learn more about this.


  • Consumers like to be educated before they purchase or even talk to a representative.
  • Phone anxiety is becoming more prevalent in today’s society. 
  • Don’t text your customers with a number they can’t text back from
